What do they have in common: Steve Chen of Youtube, Will Mills of Shazam, Dina Kaplan of Blip.tv and Naveen Selvadurai of Foursquare?
Besides that they are all famous, successful, brilliant, etc. they are teaching young Italians how to become entrepreneurs. Together with famous editors such as Robin Wauters of Techcrunch, and investors like Riccardo Donadon of H-farm, Carlos Espinal of Seedcamp and Elisabet Varley of TechHub.
Luckily, none of these people went to law school. So when these young and idealistic students had to learn the ugly side of doing business, they end up with me, Stefano Tresca, the lawyer “in the bottom corner of the picture”.
No student felt asleep during my lessons, so I guess it was a success. I got questions in class and email later and law seems more popular than I thought.
I was also chased by three students all the way out, but I am not sure I can count them on my teaching success ratio, since they were trying to get a free legal consultancy (this Facebook generation can be cute, they put “legal consultancy” and “free” in the same quote. They’ll learn eventually).
Besides, the Startup School is a great project. In Italy we have many young brilliant mind but we need more young entrepreneurs. And it’s not always the same. You can find a complete list of participants here and eventually use the School environment to expand your business in Italy.
